Lessons from Harry Potter for These Tumultuous and Transitional Times: Lesson 2

The Dursleys could have welcomed Harry into their lives. They could have loved him and received the love he wanted to share. They could have respected his differences. They could have learned from him…but they didn’t. They chose instead to try to quash his non-status quo nature, and to resent him for his differences and uniqueness. They wanted to force him to be more like them. That was impossible. The most they could manage was to suppress him for a while. As soon as he was out of that environment, he began to flourish on all levels. He began to discover who he was (his true nature) and what he was capable of, even beyond his initial imaginings.

Certain people may attempt to suppress a person’s nature, including their conscious awareness and spirituality (their personal relationship with The One Source and their Expanded Self), or their development of these. Don’t buy into that. Don’t believe they can do this. They can’t. Your personal power is within you. It comes from within you, not outside of you—not ever.

This is something many of us have forgotten, because we were told the opposite; and so many others believe it’s true that we feel left out or too different if we don’t believe it as well. We’ve even been told that it’s evil to develop and use the talents and skills that are inherent to the Personal Power that comes with being an expression of The One Source. It’s like saying if you’re an artist in a non-artistic family or a family conditioned against art, you can’t do art.

Remember (re-member) who you are: Infinite Love, Infinite Light, Personal Power—all your heritage from The One Source. Experience who you really are. Express who you really are. Even if others tell you it’s wrong and try to suppress you. This doesn’t mean to express who you are in an in-your-face kind of way—unless that’s your nature (grin). But at all times, Integrity is to guide your thoughts, words, and actions. Develop a sense of humor if you don’t have one: you’ll benefit from this. You’ll need it, especially as laughter dispels—ends a “spell” cast over your inner knowledge of Truth and belief in your personal power. Laughter dispels the belief that anything outside of you has true power over you.

Express the Infinite Light within you. This may or may not mean you do this in a way that others are aware of. You may initially—or even for years—build your personal power silently. That’s not easy in a society that promotes bragging, public demonstrations, and the opinions of others as a confirmation of your worth and importance (it’s better to be significant than important), but it may be necessary at the start. Your intuition will guide you.

Believe in YOU and your connection to and expression of The One Source that you are.
