Lessons from Harry Potter for These Tumultuous and Transitional Times: Lesson 10

The Dursleys make every attempt to keep Harry from receiving his letter from Hogwarts. Their attempts to keep him and his destiny apart eventually fail. We are meant to discover who we really are, what we are capable of, and follow our destiny in this lifetime. But this is not always a simple path to follow. For one thing, this way is not the prevalent way followed by the majority of people on the planet.

Most of us have been taught to fit in with the general opinion about what we and our lives are supposed to look and be like (status quo). Through very particular stylized marketing and training by all elements of society and all media forms, we are conditioned to focus on the physical plane rather than a spiritual quest. We can do both, actually. But the imbalances on the physical plane have become so great, that you have to be truly strong at your foundation to manage both at the same time, and do so in a way that doesn’t diminish you, but amplifies you as an expression of The One Source having a physical experience.

You may have found, like Harry did, that your immediate and extended family—whether innocently or not—did not encourage your creativity or intuition to flourish, did not encourage your inner power, did not encourage your personal relationship with The One Source (or that you and Source are NOT separate). They may not have explained to you that you’re on a spiritual quest the moment you arrive here, if not before. Then school, religion, and government added their programs into the mix. And if you demonstrated any special abilities that didn’t fit into the box they created for you, any or all of these entities were ready and willing to convince you that you were on the wrong path, or even punish you to keep you in the box.

Harry’s Hogwarts letter was not an invitation to attend, but an announcement that it was time for his quest to begin in earnest. Is it time for your spiritual quest to begin in earnest now? Considering all that’s going on in the world today, you might want to turn to your inner feelings (not logic) and learn what your answer is.

Sometimes the answer to prayer is not that it changes life, but that it changes you.
